Breaking Barriers Movement Workshop - Jazz Plus

Breaking Barriers returns this August with a new experience for the Denver art and dance community. Immerse yourself in this three-day festival of professional development and movement workshops, culminating in an interactive performance. Take class with choreographers Dana Wilson (Seaweed Sisters/LA Credits: Justin Timberlake, Kendrick Lamar, Robin Thicke) and Kim Holmes (Universal Dance Movement/NYC Credits: Jay-Z, Lil Kim, Missy Elliot). The weekend will complete with a performance featuring local dancers from the street and classical communities, as well as the premiere of an original dance piece created on six Denver artists under the direction of Dana and Kim.

Jazz Plus is an amalgamation of Dana's dance history. Depending on the day, Jazz Plus will be Jazz plus Locking, or Jazz plus House, or Jazz plus party dances, or Jazz plus character/ musical theater, even Jazz plus mime. Jazz Plus is never boring. Jazz Plus is always funky… and unforgettably imaginative — Dana's technical training, passion for street styles, and countless credits in the commercial world will make your Jazz Plus a fascinating and dimensional experience.
