MAGINE 2020 Speaker Series
Getting to Know Our City Better: How Data Can Guide Community Engagement Efforts

Presented by Denver Arts & Venues, Denver Public Library and Denver Office of Children’s Affairs

Highlighting VISION ELEMENT #3: ACCESSIBILITY
Arts, culture and creativity are truly inclusive and accessible for all.

We have the data, now who how do we use it?

Data collected through the 2014 and 2017 IMAGINE 2020 surveys, at Denver Public Library branches, and by Denver’s Office of Children’s Affairs has revealed that there are still challenges in engaging diverse audiences within the City and County of Denver, especially those in Latino and African American communities. With diversity, accessibility and inclusion at the forefront of City goals, these three different agencies of the City and County of Denver have used this data to drive initiatives to extend programming into underrepresented communities.

We invite community and art organizations to learn from the data that’s been collected and see how the results can guide similar engagement.
