Denver Film Festival: After Parkland - Documentaries as Difference Makers

McNichols Building

11/09/2019 · 2:30PM

It began with Columbine—but, tragically, it didn’t end there. We’re talking about school shootings. Built around the DFF42 documentary After Parkland, this panel will pose a difficult question: Can films that deal with school shootings really make a difference? We’ll focus less on issues of gun control (although they’re unavoidable) than on the ways in which documentaries can have real-world impact, spurring change in awareness, behavior, and even legislation. Joining moderator Robert Denerstein will be After Parkland directors Jake Lefferman and Emily Taguchi, student activists, and others.
